garden chairs

this sweet metal garden chair is from a set of 4 from the mid- 1900's (found on a road trip through 100 Mile House at a farmhouse collectibles dealer's) - they are sturdy and well-made, but with no maker's mark.

I repainted them black and the seats are covered with hand-painted linen that is not in the best condition now and will need to be replaced...

this pair of very old folding garden chairs was a must-have from the Marché Paul Bert at the never-ending Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen in Paris...

circa late 19th century, with almost all worn off original celadon green paint on the wood slats - I have loved them for many years now, and they need another romantic francophile to treasure them for many more years... $900 for the pair

french garden chair

this lovely metal garden chair came from the wonderful annual ham* and antiques fair at Chatou (outside Paris), where my then very young sons had wanted to bargain for a full size cannon of their own to take home!

(*mais bien sûr, that is ham as in jambon du cochon! - why not get your cured meat and napoleonic cannons all in one place!!)

la petite garden chair

this très adorable child-sized garden chair was found at a street brocante in Paris in the same condition as it is now - wonderfully distressed black paint over the original green, with some scraped bare wood...

it is rare to find one this size [54 cm high and the slats are 30 cm wide] still in fairly good condition - and I have always kept it indoors to protect from being further weather-worn!

from the early to mid-1900's... it could be part of your "little chairs" collection for $300
